Tax Lead

One of the key objectives of our Global client is to provide valued added expertise in financial and tax reporting services to other Business Units in the group.
**The purpose of the role will be to;**
- To provide accurate and timely financial & tax information to key stakeholders. These will include the Senior Managers RTR, Group Financial Controller RTR, Indirect Tax & Financial Reporting Manager and other teams within Financial Services and the wider business.
- To meet all key tax reporting requirements including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Facilitation of all statutory disclosures to HMRC/Revenue.
- Manage a team of senior accountants in delivering the reporting requirements.
- The tax lead will have excellent ERP & IT skills and be able to leverage on these to deliver solutions to issues arising, deliver continuous systems improvement in collaboration with other departments.
- To support the Indirect Tax & Financial Reporting Manager in delivering all targets and objectives.
Ensuring consistency of accounting policy and Sox controls across the European businesses
- Reporting to the Indirect Tax & Financial Reporting Manager this role will be working as part of a team producing tax & financial reporting for a defined business unit.
- Responsibility for monthly VAT and Intrastat reconciliations, quarterly corporation tax payments and provisions and annual tax computations with associated reporting to HMRC/Revenue.
- Ensuring accurate data input into relevant areas of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information and associated reporting to Pilgrims US.
- Ensuring all reporting completed in line with established group and HMRC/Revenue timetables.
- Ensuring all required Sox controls are completed on a timely basis.
- Assist the Indirect Tax & Financial Reporting Manager in defining strategies, objectives and targets.
- Collaborate with other members of the finance team to ensure consistency of working across the business units and to ensure best practice is implemented and followed.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and implement projects and initiatives, providing tax advice and appropriate challenge.
- Operate with the highest standards of financial integrity, collaborative working and demonstrate each of the company values to a high level.
- Develop and lead a highly motivated tax team, coaching and supporting them to deliver efficiencies while maintaining robust financial & tax governance.
- To carry out other duties that may reasonably be requested of you to ensure the efficient running of the Pilgrim’s Shared Services Financial Services department.

**Essential Criteria**
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Experience in VAT returns & corporation tax computations
- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Senior BU finance staff, HMRC/Revenue and auditors
**Desirable Criteria**
- Sound working knowledge of ERP systems and consolidation tools
- Experience in a SOX-environment.
- SAP experience
- Experience in US GAAP
