**Job summary**:
The role of the Protective Security Centre (PSC) is to help government departments to understand and manage the security risks they are facing and improve their security in line with government-wide standards and policies. They need a simple route to obtain expert advice and operational support, led from the centre to ensure consistency of approach to handle complex security risks effectively and meet government standards.

We are one of five Government Security Centres and provide security advice and consultancy services to government departments. The PSC consists of two consultancy teams and an operational security vetting team. The consultancy provides an integrated and accessible service of expert protective security advice through strategic partnership with the National Technical Authorities (NTAs) and the various entities within the Government security function.

The PSC directly supports the mission of the Government security function, which is ‘to enable government to protect citizens and provide vital public services, by understanding and leading security risks’.

The PSC is looking to recruit a professional and highly motivated individual into a Business Change and Improvement position. We are looking for an experienced individual who has the knowledge and capabilities of Change Management and Business Analysis, who is also capable of supporting junior members of the team to develop themselves.

**Job description**:
The Business Change and Improvement Lead will play a vital role supporting the PSC to continually develop and improve processes and digitalise its operational activity. You will report directly into a G6 operational lead and have responsibility for delivery of change and improvement activity, supported by a Support Officer (SEO).

You will deliver change across PSC, designing the improvement plan and being hands on with delivery. You will provide expert guidance and support, drawing on your strong experience of and expertise in Change Management to drive the successful delivery of change across PSC.

You will also contribute to seeing opportunities to develop and present solutions for review.

Your team will lead the end-to-end Change Management lifecycle for the PSC. You will give guidance to other managers, helping them to ensure successful implementation, adoption, and benefits management of change.

You will line manage one SEO, providing guidance and advice drawing on your extensive experience of Change Management and continuous improvement to bring best practice to the team.

Business Change roles are aligned to the Project Delivery Profession within Government.

**Person specification**:
**Your main day to day responsibilities will be**:

- Developing clear vision and standards in your team, fostering the use of best practice Change Management standards, tools and processes, building strong networks both internally and externally.
- Mentoring, coaching and line managing and building strong and open relationships across the PSC and more widely to drive continuous improvement.
- Leading Change Management activity, Hands on involvement in the program using your skills and experience where needed.
- Working collaboratively with customers within the PSC (to successfully achieve the desired outcomes, including preparatory change readiness activities, impact assessments, change readiness assurance and implementation plans. Acting as a point of contact for senior customers within projects.
- You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of all needed change and improvement artefacts including, but not limited to,: Process maps, Resource and cost models, MI and Reporting, Operating Model designs etc.
- Leading on all Business Change reporting requirements.
- Identifying new opportunities for continued improvement.
- Building effective partnerships with other Change Management teams across the Home Office, sharing best practice.

**Essential criteria**

You will have a demonstrable passion for change management, with the following skills or shown experience in:

- Working as a Lead Change Manager in a large department or a complex organisation.
- Leading a team, building strong relationships, and providing guidance. Having a positive demeanour and willingness to be hands on.
- Having excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into easily digestible information, adapting your style to the audience.
