**The Role**

Mirion Technology is looking for a confident, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Buyer. You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring PCB’s, optics, cabling, and packaging, to ensure that the businessesoperational needs are met, considering price, quality, quantity, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.

This position belongs to the Detection and Measurement Division Europe & Asia and reports to the Buyer Team Leader based in Farnborough, Hampshire.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The key responsibilities of a Manufacturing Buyer include, but are not limited to:

- Identifying and negotiating with suppliers for material demands from the ERP system to support production schedule and projects.
- To be a problem solver, managing and mitigating supply chain risk.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders at the Farnborough site - Sales, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Production.
- Deliver on-going cost savings for the business through negotiation, and by building / maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Follow procurement best practices by monitoring and challenging suppliers OTIF, price increases, and reject rate regularly.
- Undertake line management responsibilities and reporting when the Buyer Team Leader is out of office.
- Manage the supplier base, including developing a supplier strategy and the ongoing maintenance/improvement of terms.
- Develop and present new ideas to line manager to improve procurement processes and efficiencies.
- To be the point of contact for shop floor queries and resolve these in a timely manner.

**The Person**

The key skills and qualities of a Manufacturing Buyer are:

- 3 years’ experience in a Buying role.
- 1 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Buying role.
- Strong Negotiation skills.
- Multiple supplier management and relationship experience.
- Intermediate skills in MS Excel and databases, preferably office 365.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess priorities and work on own initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Results focused and committed to achieving deadlines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings would be advantageous.
