**Brief Outline**
- An industry leading specialist contractor in the construction industry requires a Buyer based out of their Reading office.
- The client is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the company?s ongoing contracts and overall success.

**About our Client**
- The client has been active in construction market for over 25 years and has an established client base and consistent work across the London and South East region.
- They turnover circa £40mill and are a multi disciplined contractor delivering various services to tier 1 main contractors and developers in the construction industry.

**About the Role**
- Providing prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings and oversee procurement process.
- Identifying potential suppliers and new products
- Contacting a range of suppliers and sub?contractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery times
- Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well?organised work schedule
- Assessing the reliability of sub?contractors and suppliers
- Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials
- Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services
- Providing advice to the management team on the predicted cost of individual items
- Liaising closely with the estimating team at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
- Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise efficiency within the business
- Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured
- Must have experience in buyer/ purchasing role for the construction industry
- Flexible self-starter with ability to prioritise
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- PC literate
