Family Support Worker

Immediate start, Monday to Friday 9-17.00

Oxford, Didcot and Witney

We are currently seeking a Temporary Family Support Worker to join our clients team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of families in need. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing person-centered support to our clients and ensuring their well-being.

**Responsibilities**:
Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centered approach.
Liaise with health professionals, other agencies, and colleagues to ensure effective coordination and collaboration.
Inform prospective and current clients about available support, financial obligations, rights, responsibilities, and relevant procedures.
Agree and review client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments regularly, delivering the required support hours to achieve desired outcomes.
Provide flexible support as outlined in the Independent Living Plan through person-centered contact and coordinate wraparound support from other agencies and internal departments when necessary.
Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice to enhance skills and knowledge.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies and key stakeholders for effective communication and cooperation.
Report any concerns regarding the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals using the appropriate procedures, attending case conferences and meetings as required.
Ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of all relevant documentation and records.
Actively contribute to data collection for statutory returns.
Empower clients to maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of the project, adhering to internal policies and procedures, and reporting repairs as needed.
Handle safeguardings and representations in accordance with organizational policies and conduct necessary investigations.
Demonstrate a high level of relationship skills, including empathy, mutual acceptance, supportive and constructive challenge, and a positive expectation for the future.
Uphold professionalism and values with integrity, inclusivity, and respect for diversity.
**Requirements**:
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a family support setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients and professionals from various backgrounds.
Knowledge of relevant support services, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Familiarity with data collection and reporting processes.
Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to support work.
Willingness to work outside of standard office hours when necessary.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is essential.
