Chief Technical Officer (CRB Cunninghams)

We are seeking an energetic, innovative, highly-skilled Chief Technical Officer (CTO) with a strong background in the technology/software sector to lead and further develop a successful multi-site international software development and technical team.

You will be commercially orientated, a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and have a successful track record of the full lifecycle software development. A strong demonstrable evidence of motivating and developing a team as well as the ability to forge strong relationships with all stakeholders.

This is a key leadership role and the CTO will be expected to exercise judgement, vision, management, leadership and have a passion for making the organisation better.

The CTO will report directly to the Managing Director and will lead the R&D team, covering; technical leadership, product direction, development best practices, devops practices, compliance which includes, but is not limited to:
Strategy- Lead strategic engineering, infrastructure and technology vision that creates and maintains a roadmap to deliver sustainable software for the future- Define and drive software solutions strategy and technical development architecture across the organisation in support of the company’s mission and core objectives- Ensure development is in line with market requirements, bringing a very strong commercial focus to the role, including resource management and monitoring of competitive activities- Develop an annual business plan and operating budget for the department and monitor the implementation of these to ensure that the financial targets are met- To implement a strategy fit for delivering efficiencies, economies of scale (where appropriate), compliance and service delivery- To keep abreast of current and future technology changes - informing interested parties of any implications of change- Working as a strategic member of the senior management team.

Service Delivery- To leverage internal or 3rd party resources to deliver against expectation of all interested stakeholders- Co-coordinate the delivery of key technical projects within the company- Understand the potential benefits of different types of team model, utilising local, near shore and off shore resources where appropriate.- Builds strong relationships with all senior managers within the company and instigate a culture of knowledge sharing, improvement and assistance across the company.- Direct the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to IT, online payment and software systems- Manage and measure development performance in an efficient and timely manner- Use Vesta benchmarking data and knowledge of best practices to inform way ahead

Compliance- Develop and implement a fit for purpose compliance framework for the products and services offered by the company, taking into account any regulatory compliance requirements.- Assist in identifying and managing risks associated with the delivery of the companies products and services.- Keep abreast of regularity developments within or outside of the Company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control- Undertake any compliance checks around PCI and GDPR on an as needed basis.- Ensure that all products and services offered by the company have appropriate backup, high availability / disaster recovery systems and procedures in place.

Product Leadership and customer- Understand how the products and services delivered by the company are used by the companies’ customers, and lead the technical direction for those products.- Works alongside Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure that proposed solutions are designed with the customer in mind and are delivered to a high-quality standard.- Lead the R&D team and fosters a culture of empowerment which encourages people to take personal ownership and accountability for their contributions.- Appreciated that operations (the "Ops” of DevOps) forms a critical part of the delivery of the companies products and services and fosters an environment across the company where both development and operations activities are weighted equitably.- Ensures that the Company’s reputation and relationship with customers, service providers and partners is healthy, improving and a prime focus internally- Assist where necessary to support pre sales activity in major account acquisition and account management.

Reporting:
- To support the business in the awareness of current and future technology trends- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are being followed, reporting on exceptions and advising plan of action to rectify.- Monitor team performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed board level reports, both current and forecasting- Develop a learning, researching and evaluating culture for new technologies within the team- Ensure
