**Testing Technician**required to join a Flammability Team testing furniture and flooring samples on behalf of customers based worldwide, ensuring products meet a minimum level of quality.

The department consists of a number of accredited laboratories using a range of test equipment and machinery to test the physical properties of furniture and floor coverings against International, European and British standards.

The Floor Coverings Flammability team consists of multi-skilled Technicians, Technologists and support staff arranging and conducting the testing process of floor coverings and furniture.

Full training will be provided.

**Following training, the successful job holder will be required to**:

- Test flammability samples to British, European and International standards
- Record results on paper or electronically
- Prepare test samples prior to testing
- Record and calculate test results - electronically and on paper in preparation for reports
- Maintain storage of samples and tidiness of the laboratory
- GCSEs in English, Mathematics and Science - minimum grade C
- Highly organised, enthusiastic, able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to accurately follow testing procedures and methods
- Competent in Microsoft Office - Excel and Word
- A meticulous eye for detail, good organizational and time management skills
- NB: Experience of working in a test laboratory would be desirable but not essential
