**Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant**

We work closely with a Primary School that is located very centrally in Gloucester. They are currently needing someone who can join them for a full time SEN TA role. This is an ongoing role that will run until the end of the academic year, and is needed ASAP. It will be 8:30-3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and on a Wednesday it will be 8:30-2. The role will involve working with a child with SEN who needs some support with their learning and emotional support as well.

The school is warm and welcoming, a consistently rated ‘good’ school by Ofsted. The pupils here are polite and work well alongside the staff to progress with their learning. There are high expectations within the school for pupils, and so they need someone who is happy to commit to a high standard of education. The school needs someone who has experience of working with complex needs and can adapt to the individual quite comfortably. Previous experience of TA work is key too, as they will need someone who can demonstrate good curriculum knowledge.

**What will you need to do on a daily basis?**
- Teach Phonics, ideally using Read Write Inc. if required
- Show excellent skills in Numeracy and Literacy
- Support social communication and language skills
- Promote and nurture independence
- Use your initiative to adapt activities to meet the needs of the individual
- Able to liaise with pupils’ families and professionals involved
- Build positive working relationships with children and adults alike
