**Role Overview**:
As the Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo), you will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating the provision of special educational needs support within our school. Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents/guardians, and external agencies, you will ensure that students with ASD receive high-quality, personalized support that meets their individual needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with ASD and contribute to the development of inclusive practices within our school community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the strategic development and implementation of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy and provision, in line with statutory requirements and best practices.
- Coordinate the identification, assessment, and provision of support for students with ASD and other special educational needs, working closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans (PLPs) and individual education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD, ensuring that their specific needs are addressed effectively.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to colleagues on strategies and approaches for supporting students with ASD in the classroom, including differentiation, behavior management, and communication techniques.
- Liaise with parents/guardians to ensure that they are involved in the decision-making process regarding their child's education and support needs, and provide information and advice on available resources and services.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance outcomes for students with ASD.
- Keep abreast of current legislation, research, and best practices in the field of special education, and disseminate relevant information to colleagues as appropriate.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and additional qualifications in special education or SENCo accreditation are essential.
- Substantial experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special educational needs, preferably in a leadership or coordination role.
- In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices, and a commitment to promoting inclusive education for all students.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities, with a proven track record of implementing effective SEN provision and achieving positive outcomes for students.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance SENCo practice and keep abreast of current trends and developments in the field.
