Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus INSET (39 working weeks)

An opportunity has arisen to join the Ribston Hall High School as Assistant SENCo, reporting to the Assistant Headteacher: Pastoral Lead SENCo.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable individual to join us and assist in managing the provision for students identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

As Assistant SENCo, you will advocate for those students on the SEN register and assist the SENCo in leading the provisions for SEN within school, through the implementation of an inclusive curriculum. You will support the development of resources to ensure that students have the required levels of support and you will provide guidance to staff on the choice of appropriate teaching and learning methods to meet student needs.

With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will work well with both staff and young people. With a highly organised approach and excellent problem-solving skills to overcome barriers to learning for young people, you will demonstrate resilience and positivity in your approach. You will monitor students’ progress and demonstrate effective data management and analysis skills to identify where specific action is required to support students. Excellent IT skills and attention to detail are essential.

Experience of working with SEN students either in a similar role or as a Teaching Assistant (TA) is essential, and a SEN qualification that may include TA qualifications or PATOSS access arrangement training is desirable.
