An enhanced DBS is required for this role.

We are seeking to appoint someone who is passionate about putting behaviour change theory into practice. A highly organised and experienced Public Health Officer to work in a growing and forwarding thinking Public Health Team

The role will report to and support the Public Health Lead for Communities, focusing on assimilating behavioural insights to inform our behaviour change ambitions, influencing commissioning and the work of the strategic boards across the public health function. You will be working with departments across the council and external partners, supporting project development, project monitoring and performance reporting a multitude of projects and developing partnerships, in order to expand the work and reach of public health, amongst other areas of business and team administration.

This role will enable you to showcase your skills and experience, making a difference to people’s lives in Slough; and we’ll encourage you to develop and grow too

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Support the relevant Public Health Lead in the strategic development and delivery of public health programmes and projects, focussing on using behavioural insights to inform our behaviour change ambitions.
- Provide administration and coordination of strategic developments and support to relevant Boards and partnership groups.
- Design and implement methods for partnership working such as Task & Finish groups and ongoing partnership groups.
- Support with monitoring performance, budgets and expenditure and other administrative processes.
- Support with tasks and ad hoc requests from the public health team.

**What you’ll have**:

- Strong organisational, and time management skills with an ability to sift through detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, and documentation management.
- An understanding of finance and budget management.
- To be naturally inquisitive, flexible, and open to change.
