**We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and experienced School Health & Wellbeing Officer to work in a growing and forwarding-thinking Public Health Team.**

This role will work across education and public health function and will support a wide range of school-based health and wellbeing programmes and develop partnerships within schools with the aim of both facilitating the improvement of health, well-being and safety of children within primary and secondary schools and reducing the health inequalities, within assigned localities. The role will require working collaboratively with colleagues, sub-contractor providers and, schools across Slough.

The person in this role will increase schools' participation levels in promoting healthy lifestyles and building resilience in children & young people through direct delivery and excellent working relationships with internal and external partners, working with a key focus on developing, coordinating, and sustaining a healthy schools and whole school network across Slough, as identified by the 'Slough School Health Improvement Programme' supporting them to develop approaches to reduce health inequalities and achieve the greatest possible population benefit and health is embedded in school policies.

**What you’ll be doing**:
1. Support the relevant Public Health Lead in the strategic development and delivery of public health programmes, local initiatives and projects across schools.

2. Ensure that all partner organisations understand the principles of Public Health & Wellbeing and seek to ensure that those principles are built into their school’s development plans and are reflected in their policies and strategies within education settings.

3. To promote and facilitate working partnerships between statutory and non-statutory organisations, ensuring that health & wellbeing initiatives are integrated with other education-based activities and contributing to Physical, Social, Health and Emotional PSHE.

4. Provide advice and support to primary and secondary schools interactive online platform, assisting in updating and increasing the range of public health information available online.

**What you’ll have**:
1. Strong organisational, and time management skills with an ability to sift through detail.

2. Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to talk confidently to both groups and individuals, presenting clearly key messages.

3. Good Microsoft Office skills, and documentation management.

4. Have experience of providing health promoting initiatives/services in the local community

5. Have used behaviour change models within a work context
