About the role
As Transport Supervisor you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution, as well as the effectively executing the transport plan for your Greggs supply site.
What you'll do
Of course, there’s a lot more detail to how you’ll make this happen. On top of leading the department to make sure it’s safe for our staff and customers, and legally compliant, you’ll get involved in all sorts; scheduling routes and drivers, vehicle availability, meeting cost and customer KPIs, making sure driver training is up to date and health and safety and food hygiene standards are followed by your team.
You’ll be leading a great Transport team and you’ll provide support through being visible, mentoring and coaching your team and completing personal development reviews and plans with them. You’ll support the Transport Manager; driving departmental improvements and developing proactive transport approaches.
About you
- You’re a leader who has experience in managing teams, building team capability and motivating your people to bring their best every day
- A Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Category CE/Class 1 or Category C/Class 2 driving license for at least 1 year (Maximum 6 penalty points) is not essential but is desirable.
- You can meet the shift requirements for this vacancy
- You know what you’re talking about when it comes to vehicle legislation, drivers' hours and tachograph legislation
- You’re the go to person when it comes to knowledge and experience of chill chain, temperature-controlled delivery operation and daily fresh operation.
- You’re good with numbers, reports and Microsoft Office 365
- You’re an excellent communicator able to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders from different backgrounds
- Your prioritisation skills enable you to effectively manage a fast and evolving workload for yourself and your team
