**Overview**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated full-time Gardener to become an integral part of a large, rural property on the outskirts of a Berkshire village.
The property, a family home for over 60 years, boasts an extensive estate with a 1.5-acre garden featuring lush lawns, borders, beds, and hedging. The family is seeking a skilled gardener to maintain and enhance the property’s natural beauty.
**Job duties**:
- Responsibilities of the full-time Gardener include:_
- Meticulously manage and care for the expansive lawns to ensure they are presented flawlessly, meeting the high standards set by the property owner
- Attend to borders, beds, and hedging, ensuring the overall aesthetic of the garden meets the owner’s preferences
- Adapt working hours based on seasonal requirements. In the summer, early starts may be necessary, while winter hours may be adjusted for limited sunlight
- Proficiently handle and maintain gardening machinery, as some equipment is involved in the upkeep of the property
- Collaborate closely with the estate owner to understand and meet their specific preferences for the garden’s presentation.
- Proven experience as a gardener, preferably in a similar estate or large garden setting
- Expertise in lawn care and meticulous attention to detail in garden presentation
- Ability to adapt working hours based on seasonal demands
- Competence in operating and maintaining various gardening machinery
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with the estate owner
**Accommodation**
This is a live-in role.
A two-bedroom cottage is provided, offering a comfortable living space with three reception rooms and a decent garden. Partners, dogs, and/or children are welcome to reside in the accommodation.
**Hours**
Monday to Friday, with hours adjusted according to seasonal needs.
**Salary**
£35,000 - £40,000, depending on experience.
