An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic band 3 Respiratory Assistant Practitioner to join our expanding Respiratory Physiology team at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
The Respiratory Lab team are a small friendly team of three Physiologists, one assistant practitioner and our admin assistant. We are a hard working team but are mindful of a good work life balance.
The Respiratory Department at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RUH) is a multi-disciplinary service that provides a range of treatments to outpatients and in-patients with respiratory illnesses and associated disability.
It is essential that you are self-motivated and have good communication skills. You should have experience working with people in a healthcare setting and must be willing to undertake professional exams in the future.
Explain test procedures and assisting with queries that patients and staff may have by using effective communication skills and following departmental protocols.
To work towards performing technically acceptable measurements for the range of basic/routine tests carried out in the department.
To be organised in maintaining equipment and preparing as appropriate, being independent in maintaining stock levels and supplies as appropriate.
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing an efficient and effective service to both patients and other staff, whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care, assisting physiologists as required and supervising and caring for a variety of different patients whilst in the department.
