Mail Room Team Leader

The mail room supports our customer operations division as part of the Elevate team based in Basingstoke. The team is responsible for leading & providing document services support to internal and external customers, ensuring the customer journey is as smooth as possible. The team is made up of 5 operatives including the team leader.
**About the role**
The role holder will oversee, lead & support the mail room team to ensure timely & accurate delivery of all services.
- Opening, sorting & processing post to ensure that time critical work & SLAs are met. Managing post that the team are unfamiliar with.
- Collection of internal & external post. Paying in cheques to our bankers located in the town centre.
- Batching & scanning post in time order, pulling returns, ensuring returns of critical items are worked & sent back within SLA.
- Completing requests received from other teams, so they are able to complete their daily tasks.
- Fulfilling orders & ensuring there is sufficient up to date literature stock for operational teams.
- Managing purchase orders & invoices.
- Ensuring processes & controls are performed timely & accurately by the team, are documented, & regularly reviewed.
- Ensuring accurate daily & regular reporting is completed to timescales to meet regulatory & SLA timescales.
- Managing & supporting the mail room team. Authorising timesheets.
- Overseeing & delivering training as & when required to ensure staff are competent in role & there is sufficient resource to manage work.
- Investigating, escalating & resolving queries, errors or concerns impacting the mail room.
- Managing & rolling out regulatory or process changes that impact the mail room & internal/external customers.
**3. Skills and Experience**:
- Flexible working pattern (between 6am & 4pm)
- Excel & Word skills
