Cambridge Ctu Cancer Theme Lead

The Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre (CCTC) is located in S4 and Coton House at Addenbrooke's Hospital. The CCTC hosts the Cancer Theme of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU), comprising ~65 staff, including coordinators, programmers, statisticians and data managers involved in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical and transitional cancer research.
The CCTC is part of the Cambridge Cancer Centre, a partnership between Cancer Research UK, Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust (including Addenbrooke's Hospital) and the University of Cambridge. Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Trust acts as a sponsor for the ~50 clinical projects; half are involving an investigational medicinal product and half are multi-centres.
The post holder will work in partnership with the CCTC Director and CCTC Director of Operations to lead the trial coordination team on a daily basis, ensuring the design, set up and coordination of high quality, investigator initiated trials (IITs) and translation research studies.
Operationally, the post holder will have oversight of the CCTU-Cancer Theme resources. They will be primarily responsible for the finances (budget and expenses which is annually in the region of £2.5 million) and the activity of the team which means ensuring that staff follow relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and regulations and ensure that their training needs are met.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
