As HC-One’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead you will help create, shape, and evolve our Colleague experience at HC-One, as well as influence our Resident experience, and partner across the organisation to set strategy and standards consistent withour vision, mission, and purpose.
You will be the trusted advocate in amplifying our ED&I agenda, leading on creating the platform to ensure that ED&I is core to our cultural fabric and indelibly linked to our values of Kind Care.
As a direct result of your work, colleagues will know, recognise, and experience the value and importance of listening, learning, improving and enabling each of us to bring our full selves to the workplace. Further, your influence with also have a bearing onfurther meeting the needs of our Residents.
The role is standalone, reporting to the Head of HR, sitting within the broader People Team.
Main Activities
- Lead the development of HC-One’s ED&I strategy and approach, which both sets the direction of travel for HC-One whilst encouraging, enabling, and sponsoring local activity to foster and thrive, and sets and provides guidance across our organisation in deliveringED&I goals
- Help grow, build, and sustain a diverse and inclusive culture that respects, leverages and promotes diversity and equality throughout HC-One, both internally and externally within the homes and communities we serve.Success here is that these actions aredeeply woven into our Kindness model and an integral part of our business success
- Partner with leaders across HC-One to drive greater ED&I awareness, understanding and the courage to live these accountabilities through helping to embed good practice - mindsets, behaviours, pragmatic approaches, and toolkits - in all areas of our Colleagueexperience
- Own and develop the ED&I annual planning process i.e., strategy, objectives, outcomes, metrics - guiding and influencing the delivery of initiatives
- Lead HC-One’s gender pay gap reporting process and approach, and help build ethnicity pay gap reporting capabilities
- Contribute to HC-One’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategy with relevant and related ED&I indicators, reporting and performance
- Support with the evolution of employee network groups and forums to become a strategic driver and catalyst for wider organisational and cultural change
- Align, coach, and support stakeholders across the business, including Regional HRBPs, Heads of, Directors, Executive Team and operational teams, to translate company-wide agenda into local action and change
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across the business to ensure applicable ED&I principles and strategy is incorporated into all programs and activities within the talent and employee lifecycle, as well as influencing practices directly impactingout Residents
- Support specific projects providing knowledge and expertise, ensuring that that ED&I is contextually considered and at forefront of projects, e.g., overseas recruitment, colleague journey, flexibility, etc.

You have strong advocacy in ensuring the Colleague experience in respect of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion factors arecaptured, shared, heard, and acted upon, and have the ability to manage, lead and enable others to act cross-functionally and think more broadly.
CIPD qualified to Level 5, or equivalent, with a desire for continual growth and learning. You have good experience of designing, developing and continuously improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. You are confident in driving change, fromplanning to post implementation evaluation and have the ability to surface, mediate and manage different and conflicting points of view.
You are an effective and personable communicator and influencer, experienced and confident in drawing practical insights from multiple data sets, and able to turn such insights into practical actions.You are commercially aware, able to powerfully connectthe importance of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to business performance.
Operating as main decision maker in this space, you have a decisive, yet thoughtful, nature and the ability to act with tact and diplomacy alongside a powerful and unflinching ability to speak truth. You are innovative and enthusiastic with the ability to engageand influence with people across an entire organisation.
Comfortable and capable of influencing others in the absence of any ‘direct authority’ with a highly collaborative style, thriving in team environments - ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with a range of individuals at all levels.
