**Job Title: Temporary Safeguarding Officer**
**Location: Liverpool, UK**
**Duration: Temporary Basis**

**Hours: Full Time (35 hours)**

To support this commitment, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our team on a temporary basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Safeguarding Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of local and national safeguarding guidelines.
- **Risk Assessment and Mitigation**:

- Conduct risk assessments related to safeguarding concerns and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address identified risks promptly and effectively.
- **Incident Reporting**:

- Act as the primary point of contact for all safeguarding concerns and incidents.
- Compile detailed reports on safeguarding incidents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- **Training and Awareness**:

- Deliver safeguarding training sessions to staff and students, promoting awareness and understanding.
- Stay updated on developments in safeguarding legislation and disseminate relevant information to the team.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with internal departments, external agencies, and local authorities to ensure effective safeguarding measures.
- Collaborate with social services, mental health professionals, and other relevant entities to support students in need.
- **Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safeguarding concerns and actions taken.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in safeguarding documentation.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Proven experience in a safeguarding role within further education or social services.
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of issues specific to further education settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Relevant qualifications in Social Work or a related field.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: From £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
