Associate - Real Estate Debt, Real Assets

This is a great job for a Real Estate Debt investment professional early in their career looking for career development and the opportunity to join an established market leading team with ambitious growth plans.

A bit about the job:
We are looking for an Associate, Origination to join our Real Estate Debt Team in Real Assets. You will have transactional responsibility in terms of deal origination and execution for typical loan size from £20 -£250m. You will provide day to day support to more senior colleagues on new investment transactions. You will support on the origination, review and execution of investment opportunities with a focus on the modelling, assessment of opportunities and writing investment papers for approval to the relevant investment committees as well as supporting the due diligence process.

Our real estate debt business originates and structures senior debt secured on real estate in the UK across a wide range of sectors. Managing investor capital of around £8bn AUM, Aviva Investors has ambitious plans to continue a strong focus on sustainability and to increase its exposure to the asset class particularly by investing in Europe and developing new loan structures including for repositioning, construction and subordinated debt.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- You will have relevant prior real estate experience allowing you to have a good understanding of financial models and legal, security and financial documentation;- A proven track record in real estate debt lending;- Ability to assess credit risk in relation to transactions and use of internal credit rating models;- Experience of preparing credit approval papers and presenting clearly to internal stakeholders;What you’ll get for this role:
