**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement an effective inspection service that meets the needs of our clients.
- Manage the inspection processes to ensure that all appointments are handled efficiently and accurately.
- Process reports and certificates in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identify areas of risk and take appropriate action to minimise exposure to the company and our clients.
- Ensure that all appointment aspects are managed and completed to a high standard.
- Coordinate inspections, weighing, and sampling on all shipments to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Provide first-class customer service to all clients, building strong and lasting relationships.
- Liaise with clients to find information or provide feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide technical assistance to the Inspections Department for the preparation of tenders.
- Manage databases in accordance with company procedures.
- Contribute to the development of the company's business plan in collaboration with the Inspections Department Manager and Commercial and Financial departments.
- Contribute to the Inspections Department's profit and loss processes.
- Ensure that the Inspections Department delivers a high-quality service to all clients.
- Assist in dispute resolution in accordance with company policies and procedures.
**Key Skills and Attributes**:
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with a methodical approach to work.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to recognise patterns in numbers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of staff within the company and with clients.
- Customer-focused with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while keeping each on track.
- Ability to learn and understand database systems.
Competence with standard Microsoft software packages and experienced in preparing Management Information and reports.
- Able to prepare overall and individual commodity inspections services.
- Good understanding and appreciation of factors involved in delivering a profitable service.
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial vessels.
- Ability to learn and practice Health and Safety in a port environment.
- Ability to adapt to new situations and deal with difficult situations.
- Good working knowledge of quality services and the factors involved in delivering a quality service.
- Good working knowledge of inspection and supervision.
- Good working knowledge of ports, vessels, and warehouses.
- Good working knowledge of industry procedures.
**Education and Experience**:
- GCSE grade A - C in English and Maths.
- Previous experience within a customer service or client-facing environment.
- Previous experience within the inspections industry would be of benefit, but it not necessary.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
