We are seeking committed and enthusiastic Adult Education Teachers to undertake observation of Training, Learning and Assessment within North Yorkshire Council's Adult Learning and Skills Service.

You will be employed on an annualised hours contract of 60 hours initially to carry out observations across all different Sector Subject Areas. Classes are delivered during the day and evenings and occasionally weekends and can be observed online or face-to-face depending on the mode of delivery.

Observers will be required to make informal judgements on the experience of learners who are undertaking a programme of learning with the Adult Learning and Skills Service. These judgements should be aligned with the criteria outlined in the Education and Inspection Framework for further education. You will need to be highly organised and able to identify areas of good practice within the classroom as well as identifying any specific support needs. You should possess excellent communication and report writing skills.

The post will require some travelling, for which a mileage allowance will be paid, therefore access to transport is an advantage.

You will be required to hold a Certificate in Education/PGCE further education teaching qualification, or recognised equivalent and have experience of delivering training to adults.
