Packing Team Leader

The Packing Team Leader will be responsible for all aspects of production in our packing area. Spending most of the time on shop floor, you’ll handle the potential high-level orders to deliver on time.

You will ensure high working standards in relation to hygiene, technical documents and samples being taken to confirm with customer and BRC Food Hygiene requirements.

You will need to be flexible as there will be times when learning other packing skills in the main production area is required. With high levels of growth anticipated across this area, you will need to develop and adapt to new product lines that may be introduced in the future.
- Carry out start up checks to ensure there is a good and safe working environment, completing relevant check sheets and the start and end of day.
- Drive packing lines to fulfil customer orders in the most efficient way, whilst meeting their specifications and expectations.
- Ensure all jobs are labelled in the correct way.
- Organising team of staff, giving relevant training to temporary and existing staff. Some temporary staff may not have English as their first language so ability to communicate with these people will be required.
- Liaising with office staff with any queries or issues.
- Ensure health and safety standards and relevant food hygiene rules are always maintained by the whole team.
- Arranging despatch of orders, some basic understanding of PC and Microsoft Office is required for this.
- Completing paperwork required.
- During times when packing work is complete for the day then general work in the main production area will be required.
