YMCA Robin Hood Group provides housing support for vulnerable adults and young people (aged 16+) at our Goole hostel which provide safe, secure and supportive accommodation for people where we can support them to take the steps back to independent living.
Are you looking for a more flexible way of working than being tied to a specific number of hours per week? We are looking for someone to join us on a casual basis to our Night Duty Worker team.
With no commitment to the minimum number of hours per week, you will be able to pick and choose the available shifts where we require cover. You will be able select the shifts which suit your needs best whilst at the same doing a job you love
Our Night Duty Workers are at the heart and soul of our housing team; being the first person most of our residents come into contact with; you will be there to support them with anything they need but also oversee the smooth running of the building each night.
You will be share in our belief that everyone should have a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.
Being a Night Duty Worker is one of the busiest and most varied roles in our service; you will cover everything from support work, incidents, administration, security, fire safety, cleaning support, and anything else that might crop up while you are on shift.
This is the perfect role for anyone who enjoys variety, loves being busy and thrives off never being able to predict exactly what will happen that day
You will support our residents by:
- Providing advice and assistance
- Providing keys/replacements where needed.
- Collecting rent payments and dealing with queries or charges relating to rent payments
- Taking the time to ensure they understand their tenant obligations and their rights and responsibilities as outlined in the License Agreement
- Taking payments
- Providing first aid
- Responding to fire alarms
- Being a first point of call when dealing with incidents, including emergencies, including liaising with the police and other agencies to prevent damage/harm to our residents and buildings.
- Crisis Management and incident reporting.
- If needed, undertake facilities/domestic duties to maintain the upkeep of our building.
Our night duty shifts handover from the day staff and provide cover until the day staff come back on shift the following day. You must be be able to work evenings, nights, early mornings. Our rolling rota means you will be working weekends and bank holidays.
Why Work for Us?
We are looking for someone ideally with experience of working in supported housing with vulnerable adults and young people aged 16-25 years old.
However, we are also happy and able to give you the training and development to start your career in Housing.
You will need to have an understanding of the needs of people who may have drug, alcohol and other issues. Regardless of your background, you will be confident to deal with difficult situations and handle conflict appropriately.
This role would suit you if you have experience or a desire to learn skills for social work, youth work, housing, drug and alcohol services, rehabilitation services, sociology, security and much more.
This role will really push your personal skills as we are looking for someone, regardless of experience who can:
