This role is key to ensuring all buildings, equipment, transport and plant work efficiently and effectively, meet the required organisational standards and fulfil all statutory and regulatory obligations including Health & Safety.

You will lead, shape and develop facilities and estates development plans, and lead their implementation within the Trust to support the delivery of the objectives of the Trust as a whole. You will also be our Net Zero Lead, working towards our organisational aims such as zero-emission fleet, ensuring LED lighting is in place across the organisation and that all supply chains are reviewed.

A large part of this role is managing and developing the Facilities team, which includes maintenance, catering, housekeeping, reception and equine assistants (we have two donkeys on the hospice site).

**Who are we looking for?**

You will need to have an interest in the work of hospices and your skills and experience will also include:

- Experience in management capacity with the ability to co-ordinate, self-motivate and support the team
- Extensive senior management experience
- Having a strong commercial and financial acumen
- Being persuasive with the ability to influence and negotiate contracts
- The ability to retain clarity of thought and composure under pressure
- Being able to plan and prioritise own work and that of others including the development of plans for the future taking into consideration key strategic objectives
- Being a collaborative and pragmatic communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Being detail oriented individual with exceptional organisational skills
- A willingness to be part of an on-call rota and work out of hours in the event of an emergency
- Band 8a (£46,668 - 50,690 FTE)
- Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
- Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm
- Rural Location (North Chailey BN8 4ED)
- Subject to a Standard DBS check and satisfactory references
