The Job involves providing guidance and support to Young people in care accommodated at our small and friendly homes or solo flats in Newport, South Wales.

The Role involves safeguarding young people and protecting from harm; Promotion of young people’s welfare; Reading risk assessments and updating them; Reporting any concerns in relation to child protection; Visitor checks; Dealing with significant incidents; Ensuring all documents and reports are completed; Encouragement and development of life skills to promote independence; Attending relevant meetings with professionals; Providing a positive, welcoming and stimulating environment for young people

To be successful, you must:

- Have an NVQ level 2/ 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care (or working towards or above e.g., degree and post graduate level)
- Have a proven track record in the care field as a Support Worker/Carer with young adults for 6 months or more
- Knowledge of Other Cultures there linguistic; religious and cultural needs
- Have experience and knowledge of Safeguarding Young People
- Be comfortable and confident dealing with challenging behaviours and setting firm boundaries
- Good command of written and verbal English
- Be flexible to work across a rota,
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate
- Have a clean driving license

**Desirable**:

- Have Experience of working Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children/CSE/CCE
- Speak Welsh, Pashto; Sorani; Farsi; Arabic

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25-30 per week

**Salary**: £11.30-£12.50 per hour

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
