Collate, file and prepare for archiving completed prescriptions and request forms according to dispensary procedures. Ensure all prescriptions types are entered onto the computer tracking system (WebTracker). Highlight urgent prescriptions to the dispensary team when required. Use the pharmacy system (EMIS) to confirm that medicines on prescriptions are in stock.

Monitor the Prescription Tracking System (WebTracker) and advise the senior dispensary technician on prioritisation as appropriate. Communicate directly with the ward discharge teams, and clinical pharmacy staff, around progress of discharge prescriptions. Communicate with Porters and Volunteers to ensure a timely delivery of dispensed items to wards. Replenish dispensary sundries such as bottles and cartons and order stock.

Return original packs to cupboards/shelves after dispensing. Ensuring that the dispensary is maintained to a tidy state. Carry out routine stocktaking, monitor stock levels and maintain correct stock levels. Be responsible for ordering and maintaining stock of additional labels.

Be responsible for ordering stock and maintaining display of leaflets for outpatient waiting area. Maintain the record of issue for hospital outpatient and FP10 prescriptions. General house-keeping duties. Distribution Working alongside the Stores & Distribution team (if service need) to: Provide a top up service to wards, keeping the assigned wards fully stocked with medicines, ensuring they are rotated and expiry dates are checked, as stated in the top up standards.

To ensure that the wards stock medicine supply needs are met and that the stock is used cost-effectively with minimum waste, liaising with Ward Sisters and Ward Pharmacists as required. This will include sorting returned medicines for re-use, counting them and returning to stock via the computer system. Process & assemble orders for wards & departments. Involves data entry and correct selection of goods, paying heed to Pharmacy stock control systems and ordering.

**Assist in sorting returned & waste medicines**: Assist in keeping records of workload e.g. filing, photocopying. General Ensure the standard operating procedures are adhered to and Health and Safety procedures followed. There is a responsibility for stock control and security of medicines within daily duties.

Be responsible for managing self to organise own daily duties. Be willing to re-arrange duties and prioritise according to service need if required to cover for absence. Senior Pharmacy Assistant will sometimes co-ordinate cover for duties & oversee less experienced staff. Shares advice & knowledge to train new assistants on the standard operating procedures within the working area.

There is a responsibility for stock control and security of medicines within daily duties. Provide Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday cover as per rota. Comply with the code of expectations & values that the trust expects
