**Hours: Part time hours negotiable**
**Shift Pattern**:
Before and after school
Sleeping/waking nights
Weekends
24hr care in the school holidays
**Hourly Rate**:
£13.00 Starting salary (£13.50 after 6 month probation and £14 from 12 months) - Monday to Friday
£15.00 Starting salary (£15.50 after 6 month probation and £16 from 12 months) - Saturday/Sunday
Sleeping nights - national minimum wage (currently £10.42)
Waking nights hourly rate.

Confident to work as part of a team, 2:1 and 1:1

**Background**:
*James is a happy, giggly 18-year-old young man who lives at home in a loving, caring, and fun home with his mum, dad, and brothers. James has a brain injury which has resulted in Cerebral Palsy and Autism, he requires support with all daily activities including personal care. Out of school James enjoys many activities including swimming, trainspotting, and eating out where he loves to people watch and shake hands with others.
Support workers will support James on a 2:1 basis in the community or 1:1 basis at home. The role includes helping him to make choices and learn routines, using his AAC and Makaton signs (full training given) and ensure he is kept active using his walking frame to get out and about. Working with James is a really enjoyable and rewarding role, you will have full support from the case manager and team.
The family have recently moved to an adapted house, with dedicated rooms for his care team. James is expanding his team and looking for flexible, committed support workers to join his fantastic, dedicated team.
Current shifts that we need covering (these may change so flexibility is required):
**Nights**: Tues, Weds, Fri, Sat, Sun: 20.30 - 08.30. They are currently waking nights, but we are working towards them being sleep nights. Please bear this in mind as your remuneration will be impacted.
**Days**: Friday 15.00 - 20.30 (term-time)
School holidays: full days are required and therefore an opportunity to have more shifts.
Saturday 09.00 - 20.00
**Duties**:
- Personal care
- Moving and handling at home and in the community
- Follow therapy routines and programs
- Waking nights initially but aiming for sleeping nights.
