**At a glance**
- We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The small team of Regional Safety Advisors tend to be out in the field 3-4 days a week with 1-2 days working from home completing admin. This is a Regional role for North & North Midlands - broadly covering an area from Northampton to Aberdeen (Scotland). A full UK driving license is required for this role, and due to the travel required an essential use car will be provided for the role holder.
- This position is a permanent contract.

**About the role**

As a Regional Safety Advisor you will act as the first point of contact for sites in your region for all safety advice. This includes John Lewis and Waitrose shops, Distribution Centres and our Partnership Hotels. You will work directly with site management to understand any safety challenges and support them in identifying solutions. You will complete safety audits, based on the framework set, investigate RIDDOR reportable incidents and support managers to complete accident /incident investigations as needed, tracking recommendations and ensuring they are actioned.

As you will be regularly travelling in your region and beyond for meetings, a full UK driving licence is required. This role will involve daily physical activity in order to effectively complete audits and inspections at our sites, for example, walking around large distribution centres and climbing multi stairwells.

This role requires you to be on call (on a rota basis) to provide emergency safety response 24/7 for all Partnership sites, for which you will be additionally remunerated.

**As a Regional Safety Advisor you will**:

- Be responsible for general safety queries from all sites within your region.
- Work directly with branch management to understand any safety challenges and support them to identify solutions.
- Complete safety audits and support managers to complete accident /incident investigations if needed, tracking recommendations and ensuring they are actioned.

**Essential skills you’ll need**
- Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and typically will hold the NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or working towards)
- You will be results-orientated and comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisation
- Experience in health & safety
- Full UK driving licence
- You will be a team player, flexible, adaptable and able to work well under pressure in a dynamic retail and operational environment
