The Wildlife Trusts are working to facilitate nature’s recovery across the nature reserves we care for and within the communities we work alongside, and we know that if nature is to be restored at scale, we need many more people on nature’s side.

We are looking for a talented community organiser to work with communities in Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas. The role has previously focussed on working with six wards in the east and west ends of Newcastle upon Tyne: Benwell and Scotswood, Elswick, Wingrove, Arthur’s Hill, Byker and Walker.

The role will continue supporting some existing work with community groups where we have established long-term relationships, while providing an opportunity to create new relationships with a number of groups in socio-economically disadvantaged areas or within underrepresented groups in Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas.

You will reach out and listen to the broad spectrum of individuals and groups within these communities, connecting and motivating them to take action to bring nature to the heart of their community making them better places to live. With your support, people will take care of places that matter to them, in ways that are right for them.

Please note, CVs and/or covering letters will not be accepted.
