**Support Worker - NEW Mental Health Accommodation Service**

Due to continued demand for our exceptional support services, Venture People are due to open a NEW accommodation service in Brighton. Located with easy access to communication links and shopping, this is an amazing opportunity to join our team at the very early stages and assist in the shaping of this exciting new service. You will be providing support to clients presenting with various needs including mental health issues, learning disabilities and neurodiversity. This accommodation service will have 8 self-contained units and a separate office in one of Brighton’s most desirable areas. Support will be offered over 24 hours and staffing will include a sleep-in component.

You will be working alongside a highly skilled team including a Psychologist and Behaviour Analyst. You will be able to muti-task with a positive and supportive style to reflect the Venture People ethos of “therapeutic optimism” within the service. You will be skilled in rapport building and happy to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

**Key Duties**
- To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and promotes independence.
- To complete dynamic risk assessments and support plans.
- Promote wellbeing and appropriately manage risk.
- Ensure adherence to company and national policies and procedures.
- To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support.

**Skills & Experience**
- Previous experience as a support worker, ideally within an accommodation setting.
- Mental Health/LD/Neurodiverse support experience
- Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes.
- Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.
- Able to respond to changes in an individual’s needs and meet deadlines.
- To encourage and manage participation and involvement from the people we support.
- Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft office programmes

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.35 per hour
