**About the Opportunity**
The BEP Joint Venture project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Box Encapsulation Project (BEP).
We are currently seeking a Nightshift HSE Advisor to join our team at Sellafield site.
**Key responsibilities/project activities/deliverables of the role**:
- Provide the project team (nightshift) with competent advice on current HSE legislation applicable to the activities, any hazards present relevant to the scope of works.
- To work effectively with the project team in establishing and implementing effective risk assessment and HSE planning.
- Assist project team in undertaking project related risk assessments and preparation of safe systems of work in line with project specifics procedures and arrangements.
- Carrying out effective/active monitoring, recording and reporting of our own and subcontractor HSE performance and workplace conditions
- Actively challenging and reporting any unsafe actions and unsafe conditions.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with project standards to identify and share lessons learned.
- Ensuring effective HSE inductions and relevant HSE training is undertaken and records maintained in a retrievable manner.
- Ensure near miss and improvement observation reporting is carried out and maintained.
- Ensure all enquiries from the project team and HSE function are dealt with accurately and promptly.
- Delivering suitable safety training programme for all project personnel (including routine project inductions, toolbox talks and topic specific presentations).
**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
- Member of IOSJ (Technical)
- Experience as a Safety Advisor on large multi-disciplines construction/commissioning projects
- Good communication skills
- Experience of working in a highly regulated industry
