As a member of the Liverpool Clinical Laboratories Supply Chain team, the post-holder will provide advice and assistance to a team responsible for the provision of an effective ‘materials management’ service within all LCL sites, which delivers on-going cost efficiencies/benefits in line with customer requirements and objectives. This will involve the provision of a stock management and replenishment service and the ordering of stock items.

To provide guidance and advice to the Supply Chain team on the storage, re-ordering and replenishment of the fast moving core consumables used throughout LCL, in accordance with Trust procedures.

To act as a focal point for customers, Stores Management on issues relating to the materials management service including any departments or services that are opened or moved.

To facilitate the development of the service to meet the changing requirements of the customers within LCL.

To facilitate product changes and introduction of new products when required

To conduct regular, scheduled departmental stock analysis, reviews and report where required on the general ‘organisation’ of the area and ensure that any action required is reported to the Supply Chain Manager

- To oversee the off-loading and receipting of goods delivered to the warehouse ensuring quality control is sustained and actioned accordingly.
- Manage the distribution of goods from the warehouse to Hospitals, Laboratories, GP practices, Clinics across the Merseyside area.
- The post holder will co-ordinate transportation of goods across various sites delivering and collecting goods from Hospital, laboratories, GP practices and clinics across the Merseyside area.
- The post holder will be expected to develop the service to meet the changing requirements of customers. To handle internal and external customer, queries complaints and finance inquiries. And deal with all according to Trust policies and in the appropriate timeframe.
- To liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries and collections to and from the warehouse
- To be able to use statistical analysis and produce reports in order to advise the Supply Chain Manager on issues relating to stores and performance.
- To assist with any specific projects and allocate work to the team on behalf of the Supply Chain Manager.
- To construct and action staff rotas ensuring the efficiency of a sustained service.
- To supervise the booking in goods onto an electronic receipting system, and delivery and collection of goods to and from the costumers.
- To oversee stock control, order processing and distribution of goods to the LCL Laboratories and external customers.
- To oversee the return of goods which have failed quality control inspection.
- Liaise with Estates for the upkeep of warehouse building and security.
- Overtime may be required on occasion to meet the needs and demands of the operation.
- To carry out any other duties appropriate to the warehouse as directed by line management.
