**Job Overview**:
An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first class administration services to our world class Armed Forces personnel.

Based in BRNC, this post provides and facilitates a secure, effective, and efficient system of processing, recording, distributing, and collecting of mail.

**Main Duties**
- Be the Messenger and Mail service line in BRNC including the organisation of sorting, redirection, delivery, and collection of mail to/from nominated collection points, ensuring that all processes are carried out in accordance with MOD Regulations and Defence Mail Services procedures
- Oversee the physical security of the Mail Room and supervise the safe custody of all official and private mail prior to issue/distribution
- Facilitate the protection and confidentiality of personal information held within the Mail Room, including data used for the redirection/distribution of mail such as course lists etc
- Observe all necessary security precautions and procedures when handling mail and lead on emergency procedures
- Facilitate the maintenance of accurate records for Registered, Sign For items and Valuable Items, formally identifying the recipient before issue
- Maintain a Counter Service between the agreed hours of opening
- Maintain the economic operation of the postage franking machine, keeping appropriate records
- Investigate and report any mail irregularities to the building manager coordinator, in the first instance
- Collate defined service delivery statistics and report as required
- Responsible for associated Low Value Purchase orders and stationery demands
- Responsible as the focal point of contact for customer enquiries
- Monitor the safe condition of cycles, reporting defects as required
- Promote a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law
- Undertake other reasonable tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including support/cover for other personnel in similar roles, when required
