**About us**

The position of Despatch Operative within the Alco Valves Group offers the post holder the opportunity to pursue a career path within the area of Shipping and Logistics. The role of Despatch Operative involves the packing, coordination and distribution of the product or service to the customer.
- Liaison with other departments to ensure that goods are received in the packing area to ensure the timely despatch of goods.
- Ensuring goods are packed appropriately and in accordance with customer Specifications.
- Maintaining stock levels of packing materials.
- Creating and obtaining any other Export documentation.
- Receiving and checking Export and Import Entries to ensure that they are correct.
- Reviewing the sales orders to ensure controlled goods are not shipped without an Export Licence.
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is with the orders.
- Scheduling and tracking shipments.
- Shipping goods via our UK Carrier when required.
- Giving customers the despatch information in order for them to collect their goods.
- Ensuring the correct cargo is given to the correct forwarder and signed for accordingly.

**Essential Skills Required**
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong organisational & Administration skills
- Experience of using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
