**Wokingham Borough Council are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Children Services.**

**They offer hybrid working with only in the office maximum 2 days a week.**

**Pay Rate: £38-42 per hour.**

About the Role The role is to create a life story letter to an identified number of care leavers where life story work has been limited, by carefully reading their file and consulting with people who know them. This a time limited piece of work (3 months),supporting a wider initiative on life story work The role will be managed directly by the Service Manager for Corporate Parenting and the Principle Social Worker will provide professional consultation. The assignment will involve some face-to-face contactwith the Leaving Care Team, attendance at project meetings (on Teams), working arrangements are flexible with some remote working. About you Qualified and registered social worker with experience of working with children in care and care leavers. You willneed to have a comprehensive knowledge of a child's journey through the care system - including knowledge of how and why children come into care and an insight into the importance of care leavers understanding their life journey and the decisions made Youwill be skilled in writing to young people and adapting your style of writing to respond to the individual communication needs of each young person. You will be able to work closely with the Personnel Advisor to get an understanding of the manner in whichto communicate to the care leaver and to ensure the letter covers the information need by the young person to understand their history You will need to be able to read files, mostly electronic and a limited number of paper files to extract important information.You will need to keep to the agreed program of activity over the three months of the contract, and feed back progress on a regular basis. A good understanding of the Mosaic and EDMRS recording systems are desirable.
