Job description

**1. TASKS & DUTIES**:
Standard driving duties

a) To carry out your duties in a friendly and helpful manner, ensuring that the correct quantities are loaded on to your vehicle and off-loaded at customers in a timely manner.

b) To use the paperwork provided to check the correct numbers are delivered.

c) To obtain the recipient’s acknowledgement signature, together with his name in block capitals and the date in the appropriate section on the Goods Notes.

d) To return the Goods Acknowledgement Notes to the warehouse, either during, or after completion of the day’s run.

e) To report back to the Manager / Supervisor of any problems that have occurred, or to contact him from the site of any particular queries that are not able to be resolved regarding the delivery.

f) To collect items (either goods, or monies owing to us) from customers, providing that the Manager / Supervisor has provided you with the paperwork for this purpose.

g) To use your knowledge of the area to plan the most efficient and economic way to route your journey, whilst keeping to the schedule, as indicated by the Manager / Supervisor.

h) To handle items correctly and lifting in the appropriate way to safeguard from injury. To seek assistance, if product needs to be off-loaded by mechanical means.

i) To abide by the customer’s own particular Health & Safety rules, or instructions whilst on his site.

j) To ensure you carry information provided relating to safe handling of products being transported on your vehicle and know what to do in case of emergency. To check fire extinguisher on vehicle is inspected by authorised engineer and that First Aid kit is complete.

k) To keep your vehicle clean and tidy, ensuring that any mechanical problems are reported back to your Manager / Supervisor for further action.

l) To collate and keep all receipts from the purchase of fuel. To log all details on the Expenses Sheet provided and pass the completed form to the Manager / Supervisor at the end of every month.

Whilst working in the warehouse, to carry out tasks as directed. To pick goods from stock and place them in the correct delivery bays and satisfy yourself that the type, quantity and any instructions are adhered to according to the picking notes.
- To ensure that on incoming goods you check the items and compare the delivery to the notes provided.
- To seek assistance in case of queries or the handling of goods.
- To carry out any other work that may be delegated by the Manager / Supervisor.

**2. **RELATIONS**

a) To conduct yourself in a friendly and reasonable way at all times.

b) To represent our company in a smart and efficient way, promoting our goods & services wherever possible and bringing back information so that it can be acted upon by us

**Salary**: Up to £21,632 per year

Pay: £25,376.00 per year
