**Job Purpose**

SERVE is a charity (no 1043321), established in 1981, registered as a charity in 1995, and based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. We support North Northamptonshire residents as well as lead on Countywide Projects to reduce isolation amongst the Older Person’s population.

Our charitable activities involve a range of services for the elderly and adults with disabilities in Northamptonshire with elderly and disabled people who benefit from one or more of the above services.

To represent Serve as part of the Countywide Befriending Service, we are looking for 2 Part Time Project Coordinators to deliver the new Life Stories Project countywide.

To work with older people as the Life Stories coordinator (A project to help create books, add photos and share with family and friends), you will successfully develop, manage and deliver the Life Stories Project with a team of trained volunteers. Supporting beneficiaries to develop a digital life story book, that has been specially designed for ease of use and for recording what is important to them.

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**
- To assess and coordinate a successful Life Stories Project to support beneficiaries in the community
- To assess and coordinate a successful Life Stories Project, supporting our beneficiaries in the community
- To actively recruit volunteers in the community
- To match volunteers with residents, taking into consideration their skills, competencies, interests, and availability
- To identify new opportunities to increase the organisations digital inclusion and to ensure sustainability
- To work and liaise effectively with stakeholders and partners fostering good working relationships for efficient project implementation
- To attend training and meetings appropriate to the position
- To receive referrals from service providers, administer the details on a secure database, and ensure that all records are accurate and up-to-date
- To monitor and evaluate the success of the service. Including measuring outcomes and maintaining records to monitor performance, facilitate the evaluation of the service and to meet monthly reporting requirements
- To work with the Countywide Befriending Manager to ensure safeguarding procedures are effective and upheld at all times
- To be responsible for ensuring all person-identifiable information is stored and/or disposed of appropriately, that information governance and confidentiality procedures are adhered to
- To coordinate and manage delivery of Media Tablets through a loan scheme from an external partner
- To professionally represent Serve, attend meetings and training whilst working with initiative in delivering activities suited to the needs of beneficiaries and the project overall
- To play an active role in the recruitment, retention, training and development of volunteers
- Working with people from vulnerable groups
- Supporting people living with dementia
- Establishing and maintaining partnerships
- Engaging with groups and individuals to create their Life stories
- Experience of delivering and monitoring projects
- Managing and supporting volunteers
- Knowledge of voluntary sector
- Knowledge of digital exclusion amongst vulnerable groups
- Demonstrate appropriate language and communication techniques dependent on the audience
- An approachable, flexible, positive attitude that encourages individuals to take a solution focussed approach
- Ability to identify and challenge stigma
- The ability to support beneficiaries and volunteers and communicate clearly and effectively

- Full driving licence and vehicle available for travel for work
