**IRC Healthcare Assistant Pay Rate**:£16.25 - £20.65 p/h PAYE with holiday pay included

**Location**:Derwentside IRC, Consett

**Contract Type/Length**:Locum - Ongoing contract

**Main duties**:

- Support the provision of a high standard of health care to patients in prison under the guidance of the Senior Clinical Team and Head of Health Care.
- Administer medication under a patient-specific direction with the supervision of a registered healthcare professional.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet the needs of patients with specified long-term conditions by providing quality evidence-based care.
- Working shifts that involve Constant Watch of patients that require 24/7 supervision due to risk or self-harm and other physical/mental health conditions.
- Aware of and act upon, where necessary, the procedures in place to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Assist with clerical and administrative duties as required.
- Ensure privacy and dignity are maintained.
- Support the promotion of health and wellbeing of clients.
- Undertake clinical interventions as delegated by a senior team member.

**Requirements of the IRC Healthcare Assistant**:

- Recent experience working as an HCA, Healthcare Assistant
- Prison clearance is ideal but not essential
