In the UK, Great Lakes is currently undergoing the authorisation process from the Prudential Regulatory Authority and Financial Conduct Authority for a Third Country Branch and a Subsidiary. These two entities will secure our future in the primary insurance service market in a post-Brexit world, by enabling us to continue writing our existing business.

Your job

**About the role**:
To underwrite Financial Institutions Crime, Professional Liability and Directors’ & Officers’ Liability and Non-Financial Institution (Commercial) Directors’ & Officers’ Liability products for an international portfolio of risks. The account is focused on large and complex business written on both on a lead and support basis.

The job is a front line role with daily broker contact and direct contact with clients, as well as internal liaison with other units within F&C and the broader Munich Re group.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Underwrite within a delegated authority a portfolio of international large and complex financial and non-financial institutions
- Client meetings including international travel whenever necessary
- Marketing and broker development
- Contribute to the technical development and knowledge within the Financial & Executive Risks team
- Identify and develop opportunities for new business and new products
- Build good working relationships with other Munich Re business units to enhance the position of F&C within the group and to assist in the development of the portfolio
- Provide underwriting support to other F&C hubs as reasonably requested by the Head of F&C London

**Key Skills & Experience**:

- Experience in Financial Institutions lines of business and non-Financial Institution Directors’ and Officers’ (Commercial D&O) preferably with a London Market underwriting or broking background.
- Strong technical competency in one or more of the product lines.
- Strong existing relationships with key broker houses, law firms etc

Desirable
- Experience in Financial Institutions lines of business and non-Financial Institution Directors’ and Officers’ (Commercial D&O) preferably with a London Market underwriting background.
- Strong existing client relationships
- Fluency in a 2nd language (desirable: German)
- Established record of delivery of FI and D&O technical expertise and innovation
- Excellent underwriting skills
- Excellent communication skills and analytical and decision making abilities

**Qualifications and Educational Requirements**:

- ACII preferred (or progress towards)
- Economic, legal or finance background
