An Experience Senior Children Support Worker are needed for an Ofsted provider in Burton on Trent

**Requirements**:

- 21 years old
- Recent experience working either as a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker or as a Children's Residential Support Worker in a Children's Home.
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
- Full UK Driving Licence.

If you hold: Level 3 Children & Young Peoples Workforce Diploma with social care pathway, this is equivalent to: The Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
- If you hold: NVQ 3 caring for children & young people NVQ 3 health & social care this is Equivalent to: Level 3 Children & Young Peoples Workforce Diploma with social care pathway
- The home manager will consider units completed in the original qualification against the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare units.

Additional training or units may be required to fill any gaps in knowledge / skill.
- A level three Diploma in the child and work force development would be required for senior roles, to assist potential applicants who may hold similar qualifications reflect on their suitability for this role please consider the table below as to whether your qualification is eligible for progression within the process of recruiting for this role within a regulated environment.

To provide primary basic care and a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help the child progress.
- Manage the home effectively in the absence of the home or deputy manager.
- Effectively lead shifts, direct, and support the staff team.
- To mentor and support staff and manage individual and team performance to ensure a standard of excellent service delivery.
- Ensure the effective monitoring and control of all expenditure accounted for in accordance with financial procedures.
- To manage health and safety processes in the home including implementation and monitoring of risk assessments.
- To support the induction process of new colleagues.
- To model a robust commitment to safeguarding actively promoting the welfare of children and young people in Your home names.
- To contribute to the normal development of the children and young people through the provision of a healthy lifestyle to enable them to reach their fullest potential by providing a variety of stimulating activities and a consistent and caring adult model.
- To work with consistent boundaries to create safety for the children and young people.
- To be a positive role model for the child and colleagues and encourage both to develop meaningful relationships and attachments.
- To be alert to signs of distress or abuse and to ensure that the children and young people are monitored and protected and have their needs met ensuring that all safeguarding needs are met.
- To work alongside the children and young people to help develop a true sense of identity and feeling of self-worth.
- To be sensitive to the needs of individual children and young people, taking account of race, culture, language, sexuality and religion.
- To engage, communicate, talk and listen to the children and young people.

To observe their behaviour and record significant features.
- To liaise where necessary with other professionals i.e. schools, social workers.
- To support the children and young people to integrate into social activities and where appropriate educational settings mainstream school.
- To use reactive strategies to support the behaviour of children and young people who are unable to manage their own behaviour.
- To assist in preparation for reviews and meetings and attend when required.
- To contribute to care planning and the implementation of these plans.
- To work alongside psychologists to enable effective integration of care and therapy.
- To work with children and young people and their prospective carers to ensure the child’s successful integration into a family when placed.
- To be a key carer of a child or young person where designated.

**Salary**: £23,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Burton-On-Trent, Staffordshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Children Residential Home: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ Level 3 (required)
- Driving Licence and Own a Car (preferred)
