An exciting opportunity to join a team running a successful manufacturing operation in Merseyside, with several hundred staff, multiple production lines, several manufacturing areas and scope for further longer term progression.

Do you have experience working within a busy Production Planning team, with experience on MRP systems using planning tables or planning boards on a daily basis. If so our client would be interested in hearing from you.

**Responsibilities**:

- Set an achievable production plan for all production ensuring the best utilisation of the resources (people and machinery) available whilst ensuring finished goods stock availability is as high as possible within the space constraints of our warehousing.
- To use the MRP system to generate a stock build requirement for wood products
- Sanity check the MRP requirement to ensure reasonable and practical
- Set a weekly and daily plan for the site
- Take in to account best use of the material, machines, and people available when setting the production plan
- Optimise the plan to minimise waste
- Understand the routes the different products take through the plant to maximise efficiencies when creating the plan, taking into account any bottlenecks
- Set the plan for packing and assembly of wood products considering any back orders and warehouse distribution needs
- Communicate with the rest of the Planning team, Production, Distribution and Sales, any issues with achieving the plan
- KPI reporting
- Integrate new products into the plan as and when required
- Continually review areas where efficiencies can be found through the planning process
- Assist with Workflow requests

Experience
- Previous experience in a Production Planning role
- Working knowledge of MRP systems, such as SAP, IFS, SAGE, Epicor or similar
- Knowledge of optimising software
- Well organised and excellent communicator
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Good at problem solving
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to detail
- Computer literate (MRP, MS Office, Optimising software)
