**_Fostering - Empowering Young Lives _**

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children in Wiltshire? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Fostering team as a Support Worker.

Our Fostering team are responsible for the supervision, support and training of approved foster carers to ensure placements are meeting children’s needs and improving outcomes for looked after children.

As a Fostering Support Worker, you will manage a caseload of foster families and children with varying needs. Acting as the first point of contact for the child and foster family, you will use a relationship-based model of practice to assist the child and family in identifying and achieving their goals and desired outcomes. You will be establishing strong relationships with children, young people and their carers by using appropriate intervention techniques. Your responsibilities will also include organising support groups and events for our fostering families, as well as working directly with children to provide tailored support to reduce the risk of placement breakdown and enhance positive relationships.

We are seeking an individual who holds a NVQ level 4 or equivalent experience in a relevant field. Proven experience of working with vulnerable children and families and a knowledge of therapeutic parenting approaches is essential. An ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet the varying needs of children and their foster carers is required. Knowledge of or experience of supporting foster carers would be advantageous along with an understanding of the fostering regulation that inform our work. You will also need to be able to demonstrate your understanding of child protection policies and procedures and the importance of safeguarding.
