My client are an internationally renowned manufacturer of complex parts for a variety of sectors and industries.
With sites across Europe, and a large production facility based in Cambridge, they are ideally placed to continue their growth through investment in both facilities and R&D over the coming year. Investment in the UK business means a move to a new facility andthe expansion of its manufacturing team to help capacity going forward, a move which will enable the business to further establish itself as a market leader and an employer of choice in the area.
As a Manufacturing Engineer within the business, your role will be two fold, namely in its scope and its responsibility. It's scope will be will be driven by your knowledge of business improvement, automation and wastage of production time and materials, itsresponsibilities will focus on your skill set in delivering on the recommendations you make to the business, your ability to deliver projects and process improvements, and finally the understanding of the commercial impact of your decisions on the wider business.
Day to day your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Developing automation concepts and equipment upgrades
- Lead the identification and selection of suitable suppliers of specialist equipment where applicable
- Overseeing CAPEX projects from inception to FAT and deliver on time and on budget
- Support the introduction and development of technical documentation, SOPs and processes
There are two roles available, one will need to be an experienced engineer with at least 10 years of experience in a similar role and demonstrable experience of leading critical business projects within the high tech sector, the other role is an opportunityfor a less experienced engineer looking to further enhance their career and experience within high tech global manufacturer.
You will need to be either vocationally qualified to a high level (HND/C&G) or possess a degree in an engineering discipline, and have strong skills in continuous improvement, production automation, efficiency projects and CAPEX specification and delivery.
