At Hull City Council we are committed to our children and young people, and we are passionate about how we deliver services to them. That’s why we are developing and nurturing a culture that puts our children and young people at the heart of everything we do - by empowering our workforce to work together to find solutions, to be open, honest and respectful, to take responsibility and listen and learn from others. If you value these behaviours too, we’d love to hear from you. Hull is a changing local authority and it’s a fantastic time to join us and be a key player in supporting our journey.

Due to the success of Assistant Educational Psychologists within the team securing placements on the Doctoral Training Programme, Hull City Psychological Service is seeking to recruit two Assistant Educational Psychologists to become permanent members of a collaborative, supportive and innovative team with a focus on developing high quality psychological services. In this role you will support qualified EPs in delivering psychology to children, young people and their families in Hull as well as supporting our delivery model to educational settings.

We are seeking someone who:
- Has significant experience working with children and/or young people and their families.
- Has knowledge and understanding of normal patterns of child development, including those of adolescents.
- Has a good first honours degree in Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society or subsequent conversion degree that confers eligibility for chartered membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Has a keen desire to undertake the Doctorate in Educational Psychology professional training.
- Privileges team working and values supervision.
- Can work independently and act on their own initiative.
- Can juggle workloads effectively and efficiently.
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills and can confidently facilitate training to groups of adults.
- Has a current driving licence and access to a car.

You can expect dedicated admin support; full use of IT services including the latest equipment; accessible car parking with mileage reimbursed at HMRC business rates, access to a parking permit as well as the opportunity for mobile working. We have a well-appointed office in the city centre.
