**Person Specification**

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the **Transport Manager** you will be responsible as follows:

- Planning transport routes throughout UK, Ireland, Europe and Internationally as per job requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of all client jobs/tasks and managing the vehicles and drivers accordingly, ensuring there are sufficient number of drivers at all times.
- Briefing and debriefing drivers; ensuring they get correct and full information for jobs/tasks, using the relevant company system. Dealing with any issues if/when they arise. Making sure any client/job paperwork is given to the driver.
- Support the Transport Manager with managing the transport fleet, ensuring all vehicles are fully operational and checked in compliance with the Operators Licence. Keeping all vehicle paperwork in order. Organising alternative vehicles when there is a VOR.
- Being the first point of contact regarding transport. Answering and making phone calls to clients, suppliers and drivers.
- Adhering to health and safety practices and drivers hours regulations.
- Monitoring all vehicle/driver related costs and hours.
- Submitting drivers hours to payroll accurately and in a timely way.
- Ensuring there are sufficient drivers for jobs/tasks at all times.
- Assisting with managing driver training requirements and supporting internal training where required.
- Reporting all incidents in a timely manner to the Transport Manager.
- Supporting the Transport Manager with fully investigating vehicle incidents/taco infringements. Dealing with any driver performance issues when they arise.
- Monitoring of vehicle accidents stats and reporting for the transport team.
- Assisting onboarding new drivers, ensuring induction and all training paperwork is completed and their role is fully understood.
- Booking and ferries/tunnel or driver travel (flights) when required.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Helping other staff with any ad-hoc and other administrative duties

**Professional Skills and experience**
- Educated to GCSE or NVQ standard with high grades in English and Maths.
- Driving licence.
- CPC or willingness to train.
- At least 1 to 2 years’ experience within a similar role.
- Excellent organisational skills, including good timekeeping and prioritizing tasks with a high and attention to detail, professional and approachable with a can do attitude.
- Excellent delegation skills.
- Exceptional local/uk geographical knowledge.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and act upon any issues in a timely manner.
- A talented and concise communicator in writing and in person.
- Strong IT skills and a knowledge of Office 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Teams) as a minimum.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role but with particular attention to H&S and any other regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work well within a diverse business and use your own initiative.
