Nursing Assistant Ward F6 Cardiac Surgery

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our well established nursing team on ward F6 Cardiac Surgery.
Ward F6 is a 32 bedded cardiac surgery ward caring for pre and post op patients undergoing routine and complex cardiac and aortic surgery. From April 2024 we will be expanding open an additional 16 bedded ward - F2 Cardiac Surgery. F6 and F2 staff will rotate across both ward areas.
As a Nursing Assistant you will be a key member of our nursing team providing support with our registered nurses to patients and families.
You will be able to work on own initiative, following direction by Registered Nurse.
**You will need to have**:
Excellent communication skills - in particular listening skills
A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
The ability to work well in a team
In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate. We would recommend an informal visit to the cardiac intensive care unit if you are interested in this position.
