**About the Service**

Our home is situated in Argyll and Bute but has easy transport links to Glasgow and the central belt, offering a therapeutic and peaceful environment for the young people to learn, grow and develop.

We are also recruiting for our house in Galston

The grounds themselves have a winding driveway leading to the entrance, a central courtyard and considerable space to the side and rear of the house for play, outdoor activities (trampoline, swing play area) and relaxation.

**Child Protection**

**In your new role**
- This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated and trauma-informed team, and to work directly with young people with a range of needs connected to their individual life experiences and childhood adversity.
- You will place child protection above all else and at the forefront of your practice, ensuring you take personal responsibility for responding, recording and reporting
- This is also a chance to make a difference to outcomes for young people Our mission is to make Every Second Count, to help us succeed you will:

- Work in a positive, respectful and empowering way with all young people in order to promote good relationships and encourage achievements.
- Work as part of a team to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of our children and young people
- Participate in and encourage the participation of the young people in evolving their care journey
- Write review reports, risk assessment and contribute to care plans
- liaise with parents and partners agencies to ensure that the best interests of the young people are respected and promoted at all times.
- The homes support children and young people aged mainly between 5-21 whose circumstances mean they cannot live with their families

**You will ideally have**:

- Good understanding of the developmental needs and milestones of young people.
- Experience of working with children and families.
- Driving Licence
- Ability to communicate, engage and form positive relationships with young people, parent/carers and other professionals.
- Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records of good standard and verbally present information and views.
- Ability to challenge individuals where necessary, remain calm and objective in difficult situations.
- HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification, or the ability to undertake these qualifications
