Finance & Compliance Manager Sheffield or Hybrid

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a well known charity in Sheffield to recruit a Finance & Compliance Manager.
The offices are located in Sheffield city centre, but with flexible and hybrid working, you will only need to go into the office a couple of days each week.
This role is a key role for the business. You will be part of the senior leadership and will play an integral role on the ongoing success and sustainability of the organisation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts and financial records including meeting rigorous external requirements for the management of contracts and the use of public funding
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts to SLT and budget holders
- Monitor staff allocations and other expenditure on grant projects
- Support the HR Team in ensuring accurate payroll monthly
- Manage and mitigate financial risks to the charity
- Lead the Finance & Compliance Team, carrying out all line management responsibilities
- In conjunction with programme leads, ensure monitoring of the projects through developing plans, indicators and processes that align with funder requirements
- Lead on any project-related internal or external audits
- Work with the Chief Executive Officer to produce a charity level budget, financial projections and business plan for the charity and its various programmes
- Produce individual project budgets or templates as required
- Monitor contractual and corporate financial performance on an ongoing basis
- Manage the annual accounts and audit process and deal with audit queries
- Ensure timely compliance with all Charity Commission reporting requirements
- Maintain, develop and manage comprehensive systems of financial management and control to cover all operations and grant-funded projects
- Oversee all aspects of the organisation's cash flow
- Ensure effective communication with budget holders, Leadership Team and funders to support effective monitoring of operational budgets
- Ensure compliance to financial regulation, returns, contractual reporting timelines and internal management (including HMRC, VAT and the fixed asset register)
- Generate payment runs, and maintain banking systems, including the payment of suppliers and providers
- Support the preparation of fundraising or research grant bids and reporting by preparing detailed financial information as required
Key skills / qualifications:
- Qualified or qualified by experience
- Experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills
- Third sector experience preferred
