The Disability Support Team provides advice, information, and support to disabled applicants and students, and works with faculties and professional services to promote accessibility and inclusion. Delivering high quality disability support to our students entails a substantial amount of administrative work. We are seeking a colleague to join our friendly and dedicated team who can bring excellent administrative skills to our service.

**Responsibilities of the role**:

- Responding to queries from disabled students, University staff, parents and external organisations, referring enquirers on to other members of the Disability Support and Wellbeing teams as appropriate
- Creating and maintaining accurate, confidential chronological-ordered client files, in accordance with data protection and confidentiality policies
- Arranging needs assessments, dyslexia screenings and diagnostic assessments and other appointments for students in liaison with other staff and external providers, including booking suitable rooms and making access arrangements where necessary
- Analysing medical evidence, needs assessments and diagnostic reports to produce accurate Disability Support Summaries, Library Support Forms and to initiate the requisitioning of Non-Medical Help
- Liaising with partners in the provision of the Personal Assistance Scheme (PAS) and supporting preparation for the audit of the PAS

**Essential skills**:

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including English and Mathematics at Grade C or above;
- Experience of working within a busy office environment dealing with multiple tasks, queries, and deadlines;
- Experience providing customer-facing services;
- Extensive use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Flexible attitude, and willing to work from any University site with little notice;
- Willing and able to undertake some evening and/or weekend work;
- Driven by excellent communication and customer service standards;
- Good working understanding of confidentiality and data protection;
- Good attention to detail, and an ability to work within procedures and guidelines.

**Desirable Skills**:

- Level 3 Qualification, e.g. GNVQ or NVQ 3 Advanced in Administration;
- Experience of working with disabled people;
- Experience of higher education, or working with students or young people;
- Knowledge of student funding arrangements;
- Understanding of relevant equality legislation;
- Familiarity of working with data.

The Disability Support Team sits within Student Services, working alongside the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team, the student money and childcare advice team and Student Governance.
